MONDAY, 28 APRIL 2025
Today's class had me, Chad, and Abner.
Chad arrived first and we drilled two half guard passes. When Abner arrived, he asked for openings on guard, review of arm bar from side control, and two mount escapes.
Abner and Chad had one, five-minute round against each other. I had one round against Chad and two against Abner.
AbCap:
Today's class was attended by Prof, Chad, and myself. Funnily enough, an individual who must not be named (Brady) was supposed to attend the class today. However, he decided to come up with a pathetic attempt of an excuse to not attend.
Allegedly, he had "forgotten" that he committed himself to today's class in order to "help" his lovely grandmother move things out of her garage. There are two main things I would like to address here.
Number one, I'm sure your grandma can outlift you any day of the week. In fact, she was probably helping you put some meat on your bones. Secondly, I am also certain that your grandmother could do a better Imanari roll than you. Hell, even my great grandmother could do a better one and she's dead. Pick up the slack, bucko or you will become the Sam of the group and let's be honest, no one really wants that. Don't let it happen again. We shall now resume our regularly scheduled programming!
We started the day off by covering armbars from a S-mount position and from side control. After that we practiced breaking out of someone's closed guard and covered alternatives if closed guard is not an option due to leg length or your opponents' size. We also passed the guard once we opened the closed guard and transitioned into side control. Lastly, we covered some of the basics. We drilled the one arm one leg escape when someone has you in full mount and covered an alternative that involved shrimping.
We ended the day off with some lively rolls. In the midst of my roll with Chad, he began to bleed from his lip which I then made fun of by insinuating that he has just commenced his menstrual cycle (I am 99% sure that this is the real reason that Brady chickened out of today's class and he didn't have the Rocky Mountain Oysters to say it).
So the moral of today's class is that there is no valid reason to miss class ESPECIALLY when you have agreed to it. It's not a good look.
All in all, another good day of BJJ.

SATURDAY, 19 APRIL 2025
Today marks 30 years since the infamous Oklahoma City bombing. I'm feeling old since I was a senior in high school.
I replaced the CV Axle in my wife's car, which was definitely needed, but the problem she complained is not fixed.
Importantly, I trained with Jason and got in 11, five-minute rounds.
FRIDAY, 18 APRIL 2025
Today was a double session for me.
First, I taught a no-gi class (Americana and arm bar) for Abner and Brady. I rolled with each of them.
Following that, I traveled to Jason's and got in seven, five-minute rounds.
