I taught the evening class at Mukilteo BJJ in Washington State tonight, essentially offering an open forum seminar.  There was a purple belt, a few blue belts, two green belts (combatives belt in the Sauer association), and a few white belts.  The mini seminar lasted two hours, and I intend on utilizing my teaching sessions this week in a similar manner.

SUNDAY, 19 OCTOBER 2025

Today's class was out doors and had me, Josh M., Brady, and Justin.

We covered the flower/pendulum sweep, arm bar from that sweep, back takes from guard, and arm bar from the back.

Having served his suspension for violating the terms of student recaps, Brady has been given the ability to have his privileges restored.

The class consisted of myself, Josh Moss, and Justin Howard. We started out working on taking the back from guard, both closed and butterfly. This led us similarly into learning the flower sweep, although for the students present was a first time without the gi

From the flower sweep we moved onto armbar from the back, provided you have a sitting position with a seatbelt grip. At some point there was mention of Prof DSB doing bad things to Josh but since it’s such a common occurrence I can’t seem to remember what it was

Our mascot Uno came to judge us, and we determined democratically that he would look just like Master Splinter were he wearing a gi, but I don’t know if they make gis in cat sizes. 

During cleanup, I witnessed something only Jason and Nick have ever accomplished. Kris found a foe of equal strength, filled with anger and vengeance for a genocide against his kind long past

Kris killed the Yellowjacket with his bare hands. Something something that guy he’s a black (and yellow) belt.

All in all another good day of BJJ.

Today's class had Eddie, Abner, Justin, and me.  Today was essentially a review of Saturday.

Today's class returned to the gi! The weather was gorgeous, with it being overcast and 68°.

Eddie, Chad, and Abner joined in today.  We covered a double arm bar from guard, the pendulum sweep (& arm bar variation), and multiple escapes from kesa gatame and kuzure kesa gatame.  I was able to roll against everyone, including Abner twice, for five minutes rounds.

Chad has now moved into his second stripe.
